Case Study - Bank Of Ireland
In 2011 Cardinal partnered with WL Ross & Co (WLR) and advised and participated with WLR as principals in the structure and execution of a consortium total of €1.4 billion participation in Bank of Ireland's equity placement. This critical investment supported the public market ownership of the bank, and as a result it was the only indigenous bank in Ireland to avoid nationalisation during the financial crisis.
Cardinal exited their investment in Bank of Ireland, along with WLR, in 2014.
